He was Chief Promoter & Ex CMD of Sea Blue Shipyard Limited for 20 years. Driven by a renewed vision to contribute to India’s maritime infrastructure and defence production goals, he founded Vypin Shipyard Private Limited. The shipyard aims to be a modern, environmentally conscious facility catering to commercial and defense vessels, offering integrated ship repair and production solutions. With a track record of building institutions from the ground up, Mr. O C John brings visionary leadership, proven execution capability and deep sectoral insights to the table.

Mr. Usman is the Director and Managing Director of his businesses like Kadavil Builders and Developers Private Limited, Mathews Brothers Finance and Investment Private Limited, Grand Eyewear Marketing Private Limited, UIS Builders and Developers Private Limited and UB Trader (dealer of Nayara Energy). Being an established business tycoon, he accomplished a track record of successful entrepreneurship, excellent team leadership and robust marketing skills. With more than four decades of experience in running and growing numerous profitable businesses, coupled with his knowledge and experience, he offered the ability to conceptualize, launch and manage Vypin Shipyard Private Limited.

He is the Managing Partner of National Timbers, a well-known and trusted Timber Trading Company based in Ernakulam. He started the business in 1980 and since then has gained over 45 years of experience in the timber industry. National Timber is a key supplier of quality timber to major marine service organisations such as Cochin Shipyard Ltd., Sea Blue Shipyard Ltd., Goa Shipyard Ltd., and Maritime Monitoring Norinco India Private Ltd. Working closely with these companies has also helped Mr. Shyad to gain valuable knowledge about marine services and ship repair activities. His strong knowledge, customer focus and hands-on-industry experience and proven track record as a successful businessman greatly support the growth and success of Vypin Shipyard Private Limited. Mr. Shyad has expanded the business by launching brands like Wisma Home Solutions at Tripunithura Petta Junction, Kuche 7 and Foyer at NH bye pass, Kochi. These brands offer high end wardrobes, kitchen cupboards and furniture imported from Germany, Italy, China and other countries.
